I drank liquid amber
like oxygen
the first time the sun rose.
It burned frostbitten
paisley marks on my lips;
someday a man will
wipe them off
with the calloused
turn of his thumb.
Then the translucent gold
will clamber up his wrists
until it coats his skin
and pours down his throat.
We will both be sunrises then,
and turn rosy in the fingers
when the fancy takes us.

Francius Cassamus eques sum, Lanista gladius meus est. Obscurum lucesque ferens. Contra universam semper litio. O scelerati, nonne iram meam timetis?
I'm glad you get it.
What am I saying? You always get my poetry, like a charm.
